Light rail to extend hours for late-running D-backs games

Light rail station at Chase Field (photo: RailLife.com)[Source: Phoenix Business Journal] — The light rail system will go into extra innings as needed during the upcoming baseball season.  Valley Metro, which operates the 20-mile system, said Friday that if Arizona Diamondbacks games run late in downtown Phoenix, the light rail will stay open long enough to get fans home.  Metro’s usual hours are 4 a.m. to midnight.  Chase Field in downtown Phoenix is next to the light rail station at Third and Jefferson streets.  

The Diamondbacks start the baseball season Monday at home against the Colorado Rockies.  The Metro system has been open since late December. Fans can park free at park-and-ride stations and take the rail into downtown for the games.  [Note: To read the full article, click here.]
