Downtown Phoenix Christmas tree lighting & menorah viewing, Dec. 13

Phoenix mayor Phil Gordon invites you to celebrate the holiday season, light the City’s Christmas tree, and view its Hanukkah menorah.  There will be kids’ activities, including a chance to visit with Santa Claus.  And it all takes place within a snow-filled Cesar Chavez Plaza in downtown Phoenix.

The event is free.  You’re encouraged to bring a can of non-perishable food to help feed the hungry during these challenging economic times.  After the event, there will be a FREE Light Rail ride for the first 500 people at 7 p.m., 7:15 p.m., 7:30 p.m.

  • Date: Saturday, December 13, 2008
  • Time: 5:30 to 7 p.m. Program at 6:30 p.m.
  • Place: Cesar Chavez Plaza, 2nd Ave. between Washington and Jefferson Streets
  • Parking garage located on the southwest corner of 3rd Avenue and Washington St.
