For more than a year, a downtown group known as Rogue Green has been hosting monthly discussions with experts on green design, urban life and sustainability issues.
At Thursday’s meeting, the director of sustainable design at the University of California-Berkeley, Josiah Cain, is expected to talk about global development trends, ecological urbanism and innovative ways to manage water in dry climates. Cain will share research conducted in those areas.
The discussion on [Thursday] Feb. 10 begins at 6 p.m. at the Phoenix Urban Research Laboratory, 234 N. Central Ave. About 6:30 p.m., the group will move to Ghost Lounge a few doors down from the laboratory. The lounge is at the Hotel San Carlos, 202 N. Central Ave., for Cain’s presentation and a question-and-answer session.
A downtown resident, Stacey Champion, founded the organization as way for Phoenix residents who are concerned about sustainability issues to network and learn about research and solutions. The group meets on the first Thursday of every month.
More information about the organization is on the Rogue Green Facebook page and the Rogue Green blog page.
