Downtown Phoenix Public Market Call for “Bake Sale” Cakes

The Urban Grocery and Wine Bar at Phoenix Public Market is celebrating its first anniversary on Wednesday, October 27. We’re looking for bakers and ice cream makers who’d like to help us celebrate.

WHAT: A decorated cake contest and ice cream churn-off. Market goers will vote for the best-decorated cake and favorite ice cream. There will also be a non-professional “bake sale” category

WHEN: Wednesday, October 27. Cake display, ice cream sampling and informal voting from 4 to 6 p.m. 6 pm cake cutting and serving

WHERE: Phoenix Public Market, 14 E. Pierce Street, Phoenix. A “birthday” booth in the outdoor market

REQUEST: For bakers they’re looking for a cake creatively decorated with a market theme, any size.*** For ice cream makers, they’d like you to serve up to 200 small samples, preferably highlighting a local ingredient. If necessary, you may drop off your donations, but they’d prefer to have you stay and promote your business.

Notes

Ice cream vendors, please coordinate with us to make sure we are well-stocked with your product in the urban grocery – Must have your permits from the MCESD for this.

Note that cream cakes are not allowed. Here’s the Maricopa County regulation:  http://www.maricopa.gov/EnvSvc/EnvHealth/docs/bake%20Sale.pdf
