UA downtown Phoenix med students make rounds

[Source: Jahna Berry, Arizona Republic] — For the first time, students from UA’s downtown Phoenix medical school are making the rounds at Valley hospitals.  Students from the University of Arizona College of Medicine-Phoenix in partnership with Arizona State University began making rounds in late July.  University of Arizona has had a Tucson medical school for 40 years, but in 2007, it opened a Phoenix campus at 550 E. Van Buren St. with 24 first-year students.

The downtown campus school now has 119 students.  That initial class of 24 students starts its third year this fall.  Traditionally, medical students make hospital rotations during their third and fourth years of school.  That allows them to learn about specialties at area hospitals and clinics.  [Note: Read the full article at UA downtown Phoenix med students make rounds.]
