[Source: Fox News] — There’s a Green Light District in downtown Phoenix. The city is testing cost-saving LED lights along North Third St between Garfield and McKinley. The pilot test program will allow the Phoenix Streets Department to monitor the effectiveness of LED lights and set the stage for future installations throughout the city.
The lights are called “green” because of the energy and cost savings — but they shed bright white light. “Our current streetlight technology has advanced about as far as it can,” said Mayor Phil Gordon. “With efficient, cost-effective LED lights now available, this fits right in with our plans to make Phoenix the Greenest City in America.” [Note: Read the full article at “Green” streetlights tested in downtown Phoenix.]
