The Dodge Theatre is boasting a new name as a result of a deal with Comerica Bank.
The newly named Comerica Theatre is a 5,500-seat venue hosting a range of events, from concerts to plays and comedians.
The renaming marks a five-year sponsorship deal between the bank and Live Nation, the firm that books acts inside the property at 400 W. Washington St., Phoenix. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Comerica spokeswoman Susan Siravo said the Dallas-based bank has identified Arizona and California as growth markets. Comerica has 17 branches across Arizona with two more scheduled to open in 2011.
Jerry Seinfeld will be the first performer in the renamed theater Oct. 9.
Other upcoming performances include Kenny Rogers on Oct. 14, Celtic Thunder on Nov. 10 and Vince Vaughn and Kevin James on Nov. 17.
Requests for comment from Comerica and Live Nation officials were not immediately returned.
