Phoenix’s Encanto Park reopens after Aug. 28 storm damage cleared

[Source: City of Phoenix] — Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department crews have made enough progress on cleaning up storm damage at Encanto Park, 15th Avenue and Encanto Boulevard, to reopen the entire park, including Enchanted Island, at 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 12.  The Aug. 28 storm blew down 120 trees and damaged 37 others at the park, leaving park paths, bridges, fencing, and parking areas blocked or damaged.  Minor flooding also left many areas unusable.  Crews had sufficiently cleared the park’s Sports Complex area to reopen it on Sept. 7.
