Film industry flourishing in Phoenix

[Source: Arizona Republic] — Tough economic times haven’t put a damper on Phoenix’s budding film industry.  The number of film-related jobs grew 65% during 2007-08, the city said, thanks to 540 projects shot by local and national production companies.  Phoenix estimates the economic impact of the film industry on greater Phoenix at $23.9 million.  “The Phoenix film industry remains strong and vibrant despite a struggling economy and labor pains in Hollywood,” said Phil Bradstock, Phoenix Film Office program manager, in a statement.  Among the movies shot in Phoenix during the past 12 months were Farlanders, Twilight, and The Graves.  On television: Last Comic Standing, Super Nanny, Vanished, and Project X all were shot partially in Phoenix.  For more information call 602-534-2295 or click here.
