Phoenix Public Library’s annual family winter reading program, “Catch BookBreath @ your Phoenix Public Library,” kicks off Jan. 10 and runs through March 12 at all library locations.
Children, up to 12 years old, are eligible to participate in the program and earn prizes by reading or listening to books. The program is designed to encourage families to read together.
Families are invited to attend a free kick-off program with Stan, a life-size cast of a Tyrannosaurus Rex skull and some of his dinosaur friends, from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 5 at Burton Barr Central Library, 1221 N. Central Ave. Kerry Giffen, a paleontologist from Dino Ed, will also share dinosaur bones, teeth, claws, eggs and brains from her traveling dinosaur museum.
“Catch BookBreath @ your Phoenix Public Library” is supported by the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community, with additional support from the Friends of the Phoenix Public Library for the kick-off program.
