[Source: Lana Burke, ASU Web Devil] — As shocking as it is to me, I actually kind of love downtown Phoenix. I honestly could count on my fingers the amount of times I had been downtown before all my classes moved to the Downtown campus last semester. And, originally, I was annoyed and unhappy about being uprooted from the Tempe campus that I had come to know so well. But now, after the opening of the light rail and with a little bit of guidance from my fellow SPMers, I’ve decided this is the best move I could’ve made.
Sure, sometimes I miss the old comfort of Tempe, a place where I know exactly how far I am from a Taco Bell at all times, but downtown’s got style. Not only does it have style, it has awesome local shops that are all about nurturing the culture that is beginning to flourish in the area (“Love it or Leave it” pg. 4).
