[Source: Associated Press] –A hotel next to Arizona State University’s downtown Phoenix campus that has been used as a dorm is set to return to its roots later this year. The former Ramada Inn has been used as a temporary dormitory for the past two years as a new $150 million dorm was built nearby.
A lawyer for the site’s owners says ASU’s lease ends in July and the hotel will reopen later this year. The hotel name hasn’t yet been chosen. Eventually, though, attorney Jay Dushoff says the hotel will make way for a high-rise. The new 13-story Taylor Place student towers now being built will house 1,300 students when both buildings are completed next year.
