Completely agree. I remember 15 years ago when Jackson Street was the epicenter of the annual Art Detour. That era has passed, and much of the art scene has moved north to Roosevelt and northwest to Grand. Back at the south end of Downtown, I'm cautiously optimistic about the recently announced restaurant cluster. That seems organic, although quite ambitious. House of Blues, on the other hand, seems a questionable goal to pursue. The Hard Rock Cafe in the Collier Center is embarrassing enough.
